Real Madrid legend Raúl could soon be on his way to Major League Soccer.

According to various reports, the New York Red Bulls hope to have the 32-year-old playing at the brand-new Red Bull Arena by this summer.

Raúl has repeatedly expressed his interest in playing in America and the MLS club hopes to capitalize by offering to match his current salary and provide more playing time.

"For 15 years I have won practically everything, and in the last three months I have played less," Raúl told Spanish Daily Marca. "It's not an ideal situation for any player."

The Los Blancos captain, who joined the club at 17, will leave a legacy at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu as the club's all-time leading scorer.

Recently Raúl has only managed to feature off the bench as age catches up with him. However, as was seen at BMO Field last summer, the striker is still deadly with the ball.

Raúl's agent, Gines Carvajal, would not comment on specifics.

"Some clubs have asked about Raul, but that is a question that depends exclusively on the player and he is very happy in Madrid."

The Red Bulls have recently been linked with an impressive number of notable players including Barcelona's Thierry Henry and retired Italian legend Paolo Maldini.
